Title IX Investigator/Decision Maker is a Level 1 course that provides Title IX Investigators and Decision Makers with the training required under Title IX for school districts including serving impartially in your role and the definition of sexual harassment and education program/activity. A reminder that investigators and decision makers must be separate individuals in a Title IX process; however, this is a combined training such that both roles can understand the process more fully. This course is appropriate for K-12 Title IX Coordinators, School Administrators, and others responsible for conducting investigations and making determinations into student and/or employee misconduct. The instructive sessions will include detailed information regarding the evolution of Title IX, investigative best practices, challenges faced by investigators, the role of advisors in the process, how to conduct assessments of credibility and relevance, burdens of proof, weighing direct and circumstantial evidence, and much more. The course includes flow charts, checklists and resources for download in addition to the ability to post the course for inspection. The course concludes with an assessment of knowledge and a certificate upon completion.
Approximate Course Length: 120 minutes
Please note: This course provides instructions for posting the content for inspection within the course downloads. This is the only mechanism allowed for posting of the material.
