Prerequisite: Title IX Introduction and Overview

This course is specifically designed for Title IX decision-makers responsible for adjudicating cases involving allegations of sexual harassment. The course provides a clear distinction between Title IX cases and other types of student or employee conduct matters and offers a detailed review of the decision-maker’s responsibilities under the 2020 regulations. Key topics include empathy-led practices, the role of advisors, facilitating a live hearing and the cross-examination requirement, applying burdens of proof, and evaluating both direct and circumstantial evidence. Participants will have access to practical tools such as flowcharts, checklists, and downloadable resources to support their role. The course also satisfies the public inspection requirement and concludes with a knowledge assessment and certificate of completion. Completion of Title IX Introduction and Overview is a required prerequisite.
