Understanding the Requirements for the Stop Campus Hazing Act (AC-Hazing)

Description
The Stop Campus Hazing Act represents a significant amendment to the Clery Act, introducing new federal reporting obligations for institutions participating in Title IV student financial aid programs. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the law’s requirements and their integration into existing Clery compliance frameworks.

Participants will examine the federal statutory definition of hazing, including the risk-based standard and the applicability regardless of participant consent. The course explores how hazing is incorporated into Clery statistical reporting, Annual Security Report (ASR) disclosures, and the newly required Campus Hazing Transparency Report.

Grounded in Clery fundamentals, this training reviews core compliance concepts such as Clery geography, statistical classification, policy alignment, and cross-functional coordination between student conduct, campus safety, and compliance teams. Special attention is given to operational implementation, documentation controls, privacy considerations under FERPA, and common institutional risk areas.

This course is appropriate for Clery Compliance Officers, Title IX Coordinators, Campus Security Authorities, Student Conduct professionals, campus safety personnel, and institutional leaders responsible for regulatory compliance. Completion of Introduction to the Clery Act and Understanding Clery Geography fundamental courses prior to taking this course is strongly encouraged.
